Over three decades of working at his craft, criss-crossing the United
States and Europe practically nonstop, Paul Geremia has established himself
as a first-rate bluesman, songwriter, a "scholar" of early jazz and blues,
and one of the best country blues fingerpickers ever with his tools --
six and twelve-string guitars, harmonica, piano, and a husky, soulful voice.
With an innate sense of the humor as well as the drama of the music,
here-energizes the timeless themes of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert
Johnson, and Blind Willie McTell. His originals fit so seemlessly within
tradition thateven blues aficionados are apt to wonder whether or not they
are hearing a lost Delta masterpiece or one of Paul's.
Tonight's performance features songs from Paul's recent album, the evocatively
titled Love, Murder & Mosquitos (Red House).
