An inspiring performer and songwriter, Steve Seskin has been a Freight favorite since the 1970s. While his songs—an eclectic blend of humor and pathos, love songs and looney tunes—have been covered by scores of famed artists (John Michael Montgomery, Waylon Jennings, and Tim McGraw, to name but a few), there is nothing like seeing Steve cast his spell in live performance, or on solo albums like Two Paper Town. In addition to maintaining his career as a top songwriter, Steve has recently been active in children's education: his acclaimed song "Don't Laugh at Me" inspired the adoption of a special curriculum aimed at reducing teasing and bullying in thousands of schools across the country; and he recently published a book based on his elementary school songwriting workshops, Sing My Song, aimed at helping budding balladeers discover the songs within them.
With undeniable chemistry on stage, Sweet Talk Radio performs pop-tinged Americana songs that tug at the heart and inspire the mind. The duo combines Kathrin Shorr's sultry vocals and Tim Burlingame's spacious guitar, along with both artists' considerable songwriting prowess. Their debut release, My Hallelujah, references lyrical images full of strength and vulnerability, from Hank Williams to the mighty Mississippi River to the changing current of a love affair. Both of them highly promising songwriters, Kathrin (winner of the ASCAP's prestigious Sammy Cahn Lyricist Award and a finalist in Kerrville New Folk Competition) and Tim (Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Showcase and Kerrville New Folk Competition finalist) have had songs featured in numerous television series, including "In Plain Sight", "Joan of Arcadia," and "Dawson's Creek."
