Swingin' tunes! Cowboy crooning! Yodeling pyrotechnics! Yes folks, all this and much more can be yours at the only Freight show this year where you can witness a man in a ten gallon hat yodel, play accordion, two-step, and twirl a lariat—all at the same time. The Freight's favorite sagebrush performer, Sourdough Slim, transports us to a whimsical, infectious world where vaudevillian camp and cowboy lore intermingle, producing grins galore.
A veteran star of stage and screen, Slim has performed everywhere from The National Cowboy Gathering in Elko, Nevada to Carnegie Hall, and was recently approached by folks from the hip Canadian sitcom, "House Party," who plan to feature his self-penned classic, "I Just Yodel My Troubles Away."
Tonight, Slim spotlights some all-time cowboy hits from his new CD—Classics II—a collection of tunes like "Twilight on the Trail," "Rawhide," and "Carry Me Back to the Lone Prairie," providing guitar, harmonica, and a generous helping of the truly astounding yippee-ti-yi style that won him the 2001 Will Rogers Award for Yodeler of the Year. Robert Armstrong, renowned for his guitar and musical saw playing with the Cheap Suit Serenaders, joins the festivities as featured guest. Don't miss them!
