In their original songwriting project, EV-O-LU-TION, Lynn Asher and Michael LaMacchia weave jazz, blues, rock, and country into soulful music rooted in their diverse musical backgrounds.

A powerful, expressive vocalist, Lynn has performed and recorded with Big Brother & the Holding Company, Raz Kennedy (Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra) and Jerry Harrison (The Talking Heads), among many others. Strongly influenced by Janis Joplin and Lucinda Williams, she delivers lyrics with conviction and fierce honesty. A guitarist and a vivid songwriter, Michael has explored styles including Brazilian, jazz, latin, classical, and pop. In his duo work with Lynn, he bridges these musical worlds, creating a sound that is personal and passionate.
