Proficient purveyors of the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, and England (with occasional side trips to other parts of Europe), the lively Santa Cruz quartet known as Molly's Revenge brings traditional jigs and reels up to date with driving arrangements sure to set the toes a-tapping. But wait, there's more: since the last time they played the Freight, the foursome have added lovely vocalist and accordionist, Moira Smiley, last seen on our stage with her groundbreaking group, VOCO, and special guest, percussionist Brian Rice of Wake the Dead.
Molly's Revenge members David Brewer, John Weed, Pete Haworth, and Stuart Mason play a driving combination of bagpipes, whistle, and fiddle, set against a backdrop of guitar, bouzouki, mandola, and bodhran. Featuring songs new and old, including selections from their recent album, The Western Shore—plus an energetic piper (that'd be David) with a penchant for mingling with the audience—Molly's Revenge guarantees that a rousing time will be had by all!
