Having left the house spellbound at last year's S.F. Bluegrass and Oldtime Festival Bluegrass Buffet, Diana Jones returns for a solo evening of memorable music drawing on rich cross-currents of country, country blues, and mountain music.
Adopted as an infant and raised in New York, Diana left home at the age of 15 in search of her roots. It wasn't until she was reunited with her birth family and the music of the Eastern Tennessee hills some years later, that she discovered her true musical voice, a voice that shines through in her original songs. Diana's evocative, dusky vocals and memorable lyrics blending resonant imagery and deep emotions make her a true stand-out performer, whether she's singing a dance hall girl's lament or the melodic rant of a young woman's burial instructions. Diana won the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest in 2007, and her debut CD, My Remembrance of You, won the number one spot on the Chicago Tribune's 2006 list of best country music albums.
This is definitely one to catch!
