Glen Phillips writes songs that veer from lush and refined pop to pared-down ballads, all of it delivered on the silver platter of his sweet, soulful voice. Probably best known as front man for the alternative rock group Toad the Wet Sprocket, in his solo efforts Glen continues to make music that is distinguished by hummable tunes and insightful personal narratives full of literate, rather idiosyncratic lyrics.
Over the course of several solo CDs, from Abulum in 2001 to his latest, Mr. Lemons, Glen has gained critical praise and an ever-growing following. In addition to his solo work, he continues to participate in various side projects, including Mutual Admiration Society with members of Nickel Creek.
Award winning, up and coming song-writer, Jonathan Kingham opens the show tonight.
