topical songwriting master from the Pacific Northwest
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

The rich tradition of topical songwriting is alive and well in the hands of Seattle's Jim Page, known for both his biting political tunes and brilliant on stage extemporaneous songcraft. If you missed his double bill at the Freight last fall with Casey Neill, make sure you catch this free-flow lyrical genius this time through; he's one of the most memorable acts around.

Jim's extensive troubadour travels across America and Europe have informed his songwriting, which blends humor and irony with deep insight into current events to expose the outrages and absurdities of our times. In the words of Bonnie Raitt, "Jim's been bringing his acute wit and wry humor to a host of subjects that can really use both. In the tradition of Woody and Dylan, he cuts right to the heart with music you actually enjoy listening to." Jim has been performing for more than two decades, while his tunes have been performed by folks like Christy Moore, Michael Hedges, and the Doobie Brothers. His most recent release is last year's Head Full of Pictures.
