Hollywood actor, author, storyteller, and comic, Darryl Henriques, has finally reached the age of entitlement. How did he do it? What happened to him on the way? Has he lived to tell the tale? Tonight, Darryl tells the story of his incredible and scarcely believable journey, from his birth in Jamaica to his present emergency bivouac in Southern California. Filled with charming tales of encounters with Janis Joplin at the Chelsea Hotel in New York, confrontations with Eddie Murphy in Hollywood, and a detailed and penetrating expose of his continuing love affair with his beloved wife, Darryl dares to make the leap from court jester to philosopher in one extraordinary night of theater.
A master of the stream-of-consciousness monologue, Darryl gained a loyal Bay Area following in the 1980s while working with the San Francisco Mime Troupe and the famed street theater performers, East Bay Sharks. His credits in film, TV, and other life-impersonating situations include roles in Star Trek VI and The 13th Floor.
