wondrously crafted originals with full-depth vocal harmonies
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Australian sensations, Fruit, offer an evening of heart-lifting ballads, growling blues, sensual torch songs, and rocking liberation anthems, all with exquisite harmonies and an unstoppable Adelaide groove. Winners of numerous awards including Most Popular Band at the recent South Australian Music Awards, Fruit features three women -- Sam Lohs, Mel Watson, and Susie Keynes -- two of them wielding guitars and the other a unique arsenal of horns, and all with drop-dead gorgeous voices. They describe themselves as an acoustic pop band, but Fruit's infectious music digs deep from genres far and wide, incorporating funk, blues, and rock.

From Austin's South by Southwest conference to Edinburgh's Fringe Festival, Fruit has gotten rave reviews for their high-energy live performances. Tonight, they feature tunes from their new CD, Burn, with its soulful message of social consciousness: "Music . . . is where the heart connects with what is going on in the world . . . If we can put our best songs, written with our best hearts, onto a CD and it helps raise our collective consciousness, that will be the point of it."
