Portland-based Casey Neill blurs the boundaries between twangy americana, haunting Irish traditional tunes, and rambunctious, political folk-punk. His gritty vocals are influenced by the bare voice sean-nos (old-style) Irish singing, and his guitar playing travels from percussive attack to lilting fingerstyle and hot country picking. A strong advocate for the labor movement and a committed environmentalist, Casey crafts songs that combine deeply held political beliefs with a devotion to the emotional center of his material.
The rich tradition of topical songwriting is alive and well in the hands of Seattle's Jim Page, known for his songs that blend humor and irony with deeply compassionate lyrics to expose the outrages and absurdities of our times. In the words of Bonnie Raitt, "In the tradition of Woody and Dylan, he cuts right to the heart with music you actually enjoy listening to." Also famed for his brilliant onstage extemporaneous songcrafting, Jim has been performing for over two decades, while his tunes have been performed by folks like Christy Moore, Michael Hedges, and the Doobie Brothers.
