leading American songwriter ("Wild Thing," "Angel of the Morning") w/ stunning singer and violinist
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

It is possible that there's another musician somewhere who's had his songs covered by Jimi Hendrix, Frank Sinatra, and Willie Nelson, but if you add Nina Simone, Ike & Tina Turner, and Kermit the Frog to the list, it's a pretty sure thing that Chip Taylor is the only man who can claim the honor. One of America's finest songwriters, as well as a masterful singer and performer, Chip has spent much of the past five decades crafting unforgettable reflections on life and love, from rock anthems like "Wild Thing" to soulful country tunes like "Angel of the Morning."

Several years ago, Chip was inspired to add Carrie Rodriguez's sultry vocals and sparkling fiddling to his own veteran musical skills, creating a truly memorable duo. The daughter of noted Texas singer-songwriter David Rodriguez, Carrie studied classical violin at Oberlin University and Berklee College of Music before developing her own style that combines traditional fiddling with jazz, country, and folk influences. Chip and Carrie have released three acclaimed duo CDs to date, most recently Red Dog Tracks (Back Porch), and last month Chip released his first solo effort in the past five years, a double CD package with the titles, Unglorious Hallelujah and Red Red Rose and Other Songs of Love, Pain & Destruciton.

Tonight the two present tunes from Chip's bottomless repertoire of classics, as well as numbers from their brand-new solo CDs, Chip's double album Unglorious HallelujahRed Red Rose and Others Songs of Love, Pain & Destruction and Carrie's Seven Angels on a Bicycle.
