Peter Mulvey

a innovative guitarist, singer, and songwriter with a quick fire wit and quirky take on life
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Singer-songwriter Peter Mulvey injects a contemporary edginess into his writing, distilling funk, folk, and rock influences into songs that are dark, quirky, lyrical, and ethereal. The Wisconsin native apprenticed as a street musician in Ireland before immersing himself in Boston's booming acoustic music scene as a subway and club performer, making a name for himself with his guitar style that uses unique, bass-heavy tunings, his compelling, husky voice, and his striking blend of wit and passion.

Now back in Milwaukee, Peter continues to augment his writing and performing skills with economical, resonant songs like those on his recent The Knuckleball Suite (Signature Sounds). This latest CD is an eclectic collection that ranges from country waltz to jangly pop, Tin Pan Alley standard to jazz tune, in a riveting, unpredictable trajectory that more than lives up to its title.
