leading Celtic harper & storyteller's tribute to legendary 17th Century Irish musician, Turlough O'Carolan
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Patrick Ball is one of the premier Celtic harp players in the world as well as a captivating storyteller in the Irish tradition, blending the glorious tones of the wire-strung harp and spoken-word magicianship into rich theatrical performances. Tonight, Patrick applies his talents in the solo piece, O'Carolan's Farewell to Music, a biographical sketch of the legendary 17th century Irish harper and composer, Turlough O'Carolan.

The performance brings to the stage the life, the turbulent times and the captivating music of this most celebrated Irish artist. Enriched with O'Carolan's haunting melodies played on Patrick's harp, the play draws us into this storm-tossed chapter of Irish history, demonstrating the vital role of the artist in troubled times.

A California native, the Los Angeles Times described Patrick as "the leading American practitioner of O'Carolan's art." He has released numerous albums, and won national awards for his playing and storytelling. His two-decades-long performing history was commemorated by the release of Music on the Wind, Selected Pieces 1983-2003 (Celestial Harmonies).
