modern folk troubadour
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

An Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter with a warm, soulful voice and a great repertoire of urban folk originals, Brian Joseph is at his most disarming when he blends his cool wit with glimpses of honest sweetness. Mixing folk and blues with lyrical jazz-flavored guitar stylings and an intuitive ear for pop melody, Brian's music recently won him both the New Folks Showcase at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival and the prestigious Telluride Troubadour competition.

On stage, Brian's direct, easygoing manner, talent for extemporaneous songwriting and penchant for various forms of audience interaction create a homey, welcoming atmosphere -- as if the whole audience had just been invited into his living room. Always a master at revealing the hidden depths behind everyday moments, Brian mines a particularly rich vein tonight with tunes from his latest album, If I Never Sleep Again, written under the influence of his new baby.
