Jam band-heads and fans of smokin' Colorado bluegrass alike will rejoice
at this intimate, all-acoustic evening of music led by the dynamic Leftover
Salmon lead singer and mandolinist, Drew Emmitt. Drew's hot band
features guitarist Billy Nershi from String Cheese Incident, fellow Salmon,
Greg Garrison on bass, and Chris Pandolfi on banjo.
Drew, who's
gained a reputation for mandolin virtuosity, gorgeous vocals, and great
songwriting, brings all that to the mix in a high-energy evening of originals
and well-chosen covers. Judging by Drew's albums, like this summer's
Across the Bridge (Compass), expect the unexpected from the
man who's known for bluegrass versions of songs like Bob Dylan's
"Tangled Up in Blue" and J. J. Cale's "If You're Ever in Oklahoma," and
who sets Little Feat's Lowell George next to Bill Monroe on his musical
heroes list.
