legendary Canadian folk artist
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Since she first emerged on the North American music scene in 1960s Montreal, Penny Lang has been known for her thoughtful songwriting and powerful interpretations of folk, blues, country, and gospel. While she never released an album until 1991, Penny's dynamic, passionate way with a song won her a devoted following over the years at festivals and venues throughout North America.

Her 2001 release of Gather Honey, a compilation of recordings from 1963 through 1978, won her a long-deserved JUNO nomination for Best Roots & Traditional Album. Tonight she's joined by the Echo Hunters, a Montreal-based folk/roots foursome featuring Kirk Fontaine (mandolin, bass, guitar), Gordie Fleming (lead vocals), Larry Cassini (vocals and lead guitar), and Rob Couture (percussion). Known for their taut vocal harmonies, driving acoustic guitars, and eclectic groove, the Echo Hunters were featured on Penny's 1993 CD, Ain't Life Sweet.
