roots country from A Prairie Home Companion favorites
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

"Our goal has always been to spend our lives making music," say Robin and Linda Williams, and they sure are doing it in style. For three decades, from coffee houses to the Grand Ole' Opry to Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion radio show, this husband-and-wife duo has delighted audiences with their polished, heartfelt blend of bluegrass, traditional mountain folk ballads, Southern gospel, and acoustic country music.

Based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Robin and Linda have their roots -- geographical and musical -- deep in the rich heritage that claims Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family. Both their classic interpretations and original tunes are beautifully crafted, combining impeccable musical discipline with a sensibility that drinks deep from the reservoir of tradition, as on their new album, Deeper Waters (RedHouse).

With Robin on guitar and Linda on clawhammer banjo and guitar, their Fine Group also includes Jim Watson, of Red Clay Ramblers fame, on bass, and premier bluegrass mandolinist Jimmy Gaudreau, well known for his work with the Country Gentlemen, The Tony Rice Unit, and many others.
