Canadian singer-songwriter Garnet Rogers returns to the Freight stage for
a solo night of visionary musical storytelling. One of the very finest
singers around, Garnet applies his dark, haunting baritone to vivid songs
full of cinematic detail, accompanying himself on guitar and violin and
spicing things up with an outrageous sense of humor and lightning-quick
wit. On stage, and on albums like his recent Shining Thing, Garnet
is literate, passionate, and deeply purposeful as he sings about the small
victories of everyday life, and how people find their way through an often
imperfect and wearying world. He has been featured on numerous
television and radio programs, including The Country Beat, Morningside,
and All Things Considered.
