Born and raised in coastal Maine, soulful singer-songwriter Jude Johnstone explores themes of pain, fear, growth, and redemption in performances that combine poignant imagery, engaging tunes, and earthy vocals. Playing local clubs while still in school, Jude relocated to Los Angeles at 19 and soon carved out a niche for herself, writing songs that have been covered by the likes of Bonnie Raitt ("Wounded Heart"), Jennifer Warnes ("The Nightingale"), Trisha Yearwood ("The Woman Before Me"), and Johnny Cash (including the title track of his Grammy-winning album, Unchained).

Jude's recent album, On A Good Day (BoJak), is a fine sample of intelligent, pop-edged writing that plumbs a range of emotion that's both deep and wide: Performing Songwriter magazine said of it, "From the tender, to aging, to life's hard lessons, nothing is spared and everything is beautified by Johnstone's imagery."
