high-spirited, timeless troubadour folk
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $15.50

Part folkie, part rocker, part soul singer and part pop tunesmith, Berkeley's own Bart Davenport comfortably inhabits and transcends all of these genres. The former frontman of garage/blues band, The Loved Ones and bay area supergroup, The Kinetics, Bart set out on his own several years ago as a solo singer-songwriter. Writing songs deep, intricate, and poetic, Bart has developed a vibrant style that is true to the classics without being hopelessly retro. Whether he's singing about half-hearted art thieves, slow dancing in borrowed shoes, or Polaroid-snapping lovers, even Bart's most pop-oriented songs have a depth of soul that will move the most hardened cynic. Tonight he showcases numbers from his brand new album and third solo release, Maroon Cocoon (Antenna Farm).

Alternative folk trio, The Jonah Kit, open. Drawing inspiration from musical rebels of times past, Jonah Daniel (vocals and guitar), Dave Herman (upright bass), and Luke Zaientz (drums) churn folk, punk, country, and rock with honest lyrics to create something new, impassioned, and real.
