Is it their combination of fresh, youthful energy and olished musicianshi ?
Is it their hardcore groove and clear, high harmonies? Or is it just that
they're a darn good band? All we know is, the young-and-coming
Boulder, Colorado quintet known as Hit & Run sure can make the s arks
fly! Formed in early 2002 with the goal of playing authentic yet
contemporary bluegrass, Hit & Run quickly started turning heads, winning
first place at the 2002 Rockygrass Band Contest, the 2003 Telluride
Bluegrass Festival Band Contest, and the 2005 SPBGMA (The Society for
the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) International Band
Championships in Nashville.
Featuring Todd Livingston (dobro),
John Frazier (mandolin and vocals), Aaron Youngberg (banjo), Erin Coats
(bass and vocals), and Rebecca Hoggan (guitar and vocals), the band
offers a great mix of standard bluegrass and traditional tunes plus deft
originals in concert and on their debut album, Beauty Fades.
Based on their broad appeal and magnetic sound, Hit & Run have been
compared to Alison Krauss and Nickel Creek -- come see what you think!
