Maine singer songwriter of "Garden Song" fame
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $16.50

David Mallett's music has travelled from his home in northern Maine to touch the whole world. His career began in earnest when "The Garden Song," drawn from his first recording sessions in the 1970s, caught the attention of folk icon Pete Seeger. Pete became the first of more than 150 artists, from John Denver and Peter, Paul and Mary to the Muppets, to record this folk classic.

David's songs are filled with delicate and evocative imagery and quiet passion. In his camera-sharp portraits and townscapes, capturing the heart and soul of rural Maine, there is a universality of emotion that transcends time and place. The Boston Globe says, "There is something about Mallett's phrasing that lends an urgency and boldness to his songs. His deep, clear voice has a storyteller's naturalness, a poet's intelligence." While his songs have been interpreted by hundreds of artists, David's latest release, Artist in Me (North Road), shows that his music is at its most powerful when he simply picks up his guitar and sings his songs himself.
