pop/jazz/blues diva extraordinaire
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $19.50

Massachusetts-based song stylist Suede calls herself a cross between Ella Fitzgerald and Bette Midler, with a dash of Louis Armstrong thrown in for good measure, and one thing's for sure: with her huge alto voice, commanding stage presence, elegant phrasing, and sheer pizzazz, her performances do recall the best of earlier times. She delivers sophisticated pop/jazz, naughty blues belting, and ethereal love songs, accompanying herself on piano, guitar, and trumpet, all with warmth, wit, and a purely beautiful voice that swoops and stretches, purrs and belts, scats and growls. Whether it's newer material or across-the-spectrum classic favorites like "Built for Comfort," "Moondance," and "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans" (as featured on her 2001 album On The Day We Met,) Suede sings 'em all with unmatchable style and moxie.
