harmonica ace & friends
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $16.50

Bay Area harmonica virtuoso Norton Buffalo is a deep, soulful musician and the undisputed jaw-droppingest mouth harp player around. (As the Salt Lake Tribune put it, "To say that Norton plays harmonica is on the order of calling Miles Davis a trumpeter.") A great showman and singer, as well as a harp blower with an incredible command of nuance and improvisation, Norton is one of the most versatile and talented harmonica players in music today. Acclaimed in rock, R&B, country, and jazz circles, his career includes a long stint as a member of the Steve Miller Band, as well as work with musicians as diverse as Bonnie Raitt, The Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins, and Olivia Newton-John. Norton is also a prolific composer whose credits include Oliver Stone's film The Doors and several Peanuts cartoons, as well as numerous recordings including his 2002 duo album with longtime cohort Roy Rogers, Roots of Our Nature. Joining Norton tonight are Lisa Flores and David Aguilar, both on guitar and vocals, forming a tasty three-way blend of tones, rhythms, harmonies, and personalities.
