the Charlie Parker of bluegrass mandolin
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $16.50

Frank Wakefield's mandolin playing and unique vocals have graced many top bluegrass bands, from Jimmy Martin & the Sunny Mountain Boys to Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys and Frank's own Good Ole Boys, and his long partnership with Red Allen in the Kentuckians gave the world some of the best-loved classic sounds from the early days of bluegrass. Add to this Frank's flare for showmanship, idiosyncratic sense of humor and hilarious yarn-spinning and you get one truly memorable evening. Honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association as a Living Legend, Frank, whose vibrant, powerful playing is featured on the award-winning album Bluegrass Mandolin Extravaganza! (Acoustic Disc), is backed by a band of stalwart players including Jim Lewin on guitar, Curtis Wright on banjo, and fiddler Jim Moss, with whom Frank collaborated on his most recent album, Sleeping Lady.
