Since coming to public attention two years ago on the innovative Irish television series, Flosc, the youthful band Teada has been steadily gaining momentum, purveying its lively blend of traditional Irish instrumental tunes and vocal numbers across the U.S. and Europe, as well as recording a self-named debut album and being chosen Best Traditional Newcomers in Irish Music Magazine's 2003 Readers' Poll. One of the most exciting traditional bands of recent years, Teada plays stylish, intelligent music, sensitive and rollicking in turn, its sense of fun balanced by beautiful moments of subtle delicacy. The spirited unison playing of acclaimed County Sligo fiddler Oisin MacDiarmada and excellent flutist/guitarist John Blake are backed by banjo and bouzouki from Sean McElwain, first-rate button accordion from Paul Finn, and the bodhrán of Tristan Rosenstock.
