Raised on an Iowa farm and now living in Chicago, Susan Werner brings a
supple alto voice with powerful guitar and piano ability to the stage. Susan
composes and performs finely polished songs which meld folk, contemporary,
and jazz elements into unpredictable and richly evocative gems. After
earning a master's degree in classical voice from Temple University and
honing her skills in listening rooms on the East Coast, Susan gained
national attention in 1996 with the release of her third album, Last of the
Good Straight Girls. Spicing things up with her comedic sense of timing and
astute social commentary, Susan performs songs from her latest album, last
year's New Non-Fiction. David Jacobs-Strain opens |
