Dan Bern is a wildly imaginative troubadour whose music was described in the
New York Times as "topical-political-poetical-sarcastic-punk-folk." His
brilliant free-form poetic lyrics and the power of his raging tenor often
generate controversy as he veers from comedy to anger, conjecture to
shaggy-dog stories, with side trips to theology, science fiction, consumer
culture, love, art, and baseball. The Iowa native has spent his adult years
traveling the country, writing hundreds of songs, and performing them for an
ever-expanding audience. He has released six albums, most recently last
year's New American Language (Messenger). Opening for Dan are Chris
Chandler & Anne Feeney on Tuesday and John Vecchiarelli on Wednesday.
