rockabilly Halloween celebration w/ legendary
Moonlighters and Lost Planet Airmen guitarist

Come hitch a ride to honky-tonk heaven with Bill Kirchen, the man Guitar Player magazine dubbed the "Titan of the Telecaster!" With his scorching guitar runs, booming licks, and elegant twang, Bill celebrates an American musical tradition where country music draws upon its origins in blues and bluegrass, and in the Western swing of Texas and California honky tonks, infusing rockabilly music with an irresistible blend of hard-core devotion and lighthearted fun. He first gained renown as lead guitarist for Commander Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen, the renegade country-rock band that tuned a whole generation into the joys of unvarnished rockabilly music (it was Kirchen's Telecaster guitar that drove "Hot Rod Lincoln" into the Top Ten in 1972). Bill still plays the same guitar, and continues to polish his reputation as one of America's premier roots-rock guitarists, performing with folks like Nick Lowe and Emmylou Harris and recording award-winning albums like his recent release Tied to the Wheel (HighTone), which includes the Grammy-nominated instrumental "Poultry in Motion". A Michigan-born transplant to Washington DC, Bill was recently inducted into the Washington Area Music Association Hall of Fame.
