Moving with equal grace through folk, country, and Hispanic idioms, Tish Hinojosa makes the boundaries between cultures, languages, and musical genres disappear. Her latest album, Sign of Truth (Rounder) is a collection of originals-richly detailed, delicious slices of life. A native of San Antonio who now resides in Austin, Tish remains committed to her own style and cultural roots. As she herself put it, I still take to the road clinging to the culture, my native tongue wanting to speak and weep and sing.
