Parisian jazz & blues pianist

Philippe LeJeune found the course of his life being changed forever at the age of 14, when he attended a 1968 concert by master boogie-woogie pianist Memphis Slim. Philippe immediately put an end to his classical efforts and began teaching himself the blues, scouring local record shops for recordings by boogie-woogie greats like Pete Johnson and Meade "Lux" Lewis. In the years since then, Philippe has built himself a reputation as one of the rare European pianists who has not only mastered the form, but also embraced the spirit of American jazz (in 1980 he closed the circle by cutting an album with Memphis Slim, Dialogue in Boogie. With a touch both light and powerful, Philip`course, a fabulous swing, in performances throughout the America and Europe, as well as on his five American recordings, most recently Piano Groove (Black & Blue). Accompanying Philippe are drummer Jimmy Hobson. Wendy Dewitt, one of the queens of boogie woogie piano opens.
