Roy Rogers, the master of bottleneck slide guitar, links disparate genres of American roots music, constantly stretching the boundaries of his instrument in his own unique way. Norton Buffalo is a soulful musician and the finest multi-genre mouth harp player of our time. Together they comprise contemporary roots music's leading harmonica and guitar duo. Each of the two Bay Area-based artists have outstanding recording and performing careers. In addition, Roy is the top-flight record producer of John Lee Hooker's Grammy-award winning albums, and Norton is a prolific composer whose credits include Oliver Stone's film The Doors as well as the theme song for the animated Garfield television series. The duo displays undeniable chemistry ranging through a dazzling mix of blues, R&B, ballads, country, jazz, and rock in a comfortable acoustic setting. Roy and Norton, who first worked together at the Freight in the mid-1980s, have recorded two albums for Blind Pig records, R&B and Travelin' Tracks. |
