singer-songwriter

With nothing more than a guitar in hand and a song with a story to tell, Keith Greeninger can captivate an audience with his deep, textured voice, his rich, engaging songwriting, and his deft yet unpretentious playing. Faithful to the basic elements that fuel all human beings: love, nature, family, friends, and community, he paints intricate portraits of the human condition with a pallet full of memorable characters and good tunes. The Bay Area native began his professional career while still a teenager, traveling with his guitar throughout North America, learning to craft simple, honest and heartfelt music. Every encounter, every odd job, every new city or community became an integral part of his bittersweet lyrics and acoustic mix of folk and rock. In the late 1980s, he formed City Folk with Kimball Hurd and Roger Feuer. The trio enjoyed immense popularity on the folk circuit, performing at festivals and concert halls across the country and releasing three successful albums. Keith returned to his solo career in 1997, winning the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Songwriters Contest. Tonight Keith performs old favorites as well as selections from his recently released, second solo album, Back to You, joined by Dayan Kai, singer and guitarist with Santa Cruz acoustic rock ensemble, Water.
