A gifted singer and songwriter, Andy M. Stewart's beautiful interpretations of Celtic songs reflect his Scottish childhood, growing up in a family of fine traditional singers. As a member of Silly Wizard, the supergroup which initiated the Scottish music revival of the 1970s, his originals, such as "The Ramblin' Rover" and "Golden, Golden" became classics. An accomplished tenor banjo and tin whistle player, Andy's biting wit and hilarious stories add the touch of brilliance to his live performances. Andy's latest album is Donegal Rain (Green Linnet). Irish guitarist Gerry O'Beirne, known for his technical dexterity, imagination, and inventiveness, is a masterful songwriter and brilliant singer who involves his listeners with a gentle intensity that allows the beauty of his melodies to envelop and sweep them along. Gerry's latest album is Half Moon Bay. Andy and Gerry complement each other with sensitive and beautiful accompaniment, in a program that moves from achingly gorgeous ballads to romping jigs and trenchant, surging songs based on historic lore.
