The Limeliters are renowned for their incredible musical talent and zany sense of humor. In the 1960s the trio released a string of hit albums on the Elektra and RCA labels, but at the pinnacle of their success, the highly individualistic members of the group decided to pursue their separate interests -- Glenn Yarbrough as a successful soloist, Alex Hassilev as a record producer, and Lou Gottlieb as owner of a commune ranch in California. Alex and Lou reformed the group in 1981, adding the soaring tenor of Rick Dougherty. With Lou's passing in 1996, the high baritone part was taken up by Bill Zorn, a banjo-player extraordinaire. With Alex on guitar, Rick on bass and Bill on banjo, the Limeliters are still thrilling audiences and receiving rave reviews for their concerts and recordings. The trio's new album, Until We Get It Right, is a wonderful mix of fresh new material and stunning remakes of classics, sparkling with the Limeliter's signature wit and incredibly lush harmonies. |
