Dan Bern is a wildly imaginative troubadour whose music has been described in the New York Times as "topical-political-poetical-sarcastic-punk-folk." His great free-form poetic lyrics and the power of his raging tenor generate laughter and controversy (often at the same time) as he veers from comedy to anger, conjecture to shaggy-dog stories, with side trips to theology, science fiction, consumer culture, love, art, and baseball.
The Iowa native has spent his adult years traveling the country, writing hundreds of songs, and captivating an ever-expanding audience with his powerfully unpredictable, thought-provoking performances. Dan has released numerous albums, including many EPs of his rousing topical songs and several download-only albums, most recently Macaroni Cola. Some of his songs are also featured prominently in the recent film Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
