traditional English and Scottish folk music and sea shanties
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Dick Holdstock and Allan MacLeod have spent the past three decades regaling audiences with jaunty tunes and rollicking banter: these fellas know what they're doing! Mingling shanties and other traditional songs of the sea, folk music from the British Isles, and outrageous stories, Allan and Dick have captivated folks from Connecticut's Mystic Sea Music Festival to the Vancouver Folksong Society to Bertha's Mussels House in Baltimore.

While the pair are accomplished at mandolin and guitar accompaniment, their speciality lies in a cappella arrangements that showcase the strong melodic tones of their traditional harmony singing style. Full of shanties like "Away to Hilo," forecastle songs like "Polly on the Shore," and ballads like "Jolly Roving Tar," the duo's music provides an intriguing glimpse into the past, in concert and on albums like their recent Deepwater Songs.
