Bluegrass Buffet
SF Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival

Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $15.50

We all know there's no such thing as enough bluegrass! Tonight the San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival is back with a Bluegrass Buffet put together by Shelby Ash Presents, featuring some of the very finest artists from the Bay Area and beyond. This is one musical feast that no self-respecting roots music fan should miss.

Huckleberry Flint, from Eureka, can't easily be defined by a particular genre, but rather draw from the whole canon of traditional American music. Their zeal and enthusiasm shake the dust right off those antique melodies, creating a sound and charisma that draw in young and old alike. Be warned, however: word has it that listeners can not remain still while listening to this band!

The Mighty Crows' traditional style and repertoire is reminiscent of the seminal bluegrass acts of the 1940s and '50s. Formed in 2004, the band is built around the powerful trio singing of Chris Smith (guitar), Jeff Zieba (banjo), and Mark Wardenburg (fiddle). Band front man and South Bay bluegrass veteran Ken Torke (mandolin) and bass stalwart John Kael round out the group.

Zach Driscoll & Three Quarter Time is a youthful bluegrass gospel band based in the Pacific Northwest. Tight musicianship and sparkling vocals set off the group's musical blend, which pushes bluegrass into the future with clever arrangements of gospel standards and original compositions. In addition to singer/guitarist Zach, the group features fiddler Erik Berg-Johansen and Alex Truax on banjo.
