a satirical "send-up" of the joys, pains, and absurdities of the holiday season
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

In this time of upheaval and strife, Christmas just got funnier thanks to PeaceNick, Roy Zimmerman's send-up of the joys, pains, and absurdities of the holiday season. A well-known satirical songwriter, Roy presents a solo evening of family-friendly seasonal satire, or, in Roy's words, "Music to laugh at while the presents get unwrapped and the Bush administration comes unglued."

A writer of clever, tuneful lampoons for the past 20 years, Roy founded and wrote all the material for the comedy folk quartet The Foremen. Since then he's skewered American socio-politics on NPR and Air America Radio, in folk clubs across the country, and on solo CDs like his recent Faulty Intelligence.

In tonight's special program, Roy performs season-appropriate tunes like "Christmas is Pain," "Christma-Hanu-Rama-Ka-Dona-Kwaanza," and "I Won't Be Home for Christmas," in styles ranging from scathing to silly, from from Dylan-esque protest song to Vaudeville-style patter.
