With plenty of old-time spirit and bluegrass drive, Erin Inglish & Joe Ridout present a tasty mix of original music influenced by the sounds of the good old days.
Formally trained as an opera singer, Erin has expended her musical realm to include Americana roots, folk, bluegrass, old-time, and blues. Since moving to Berkeley for school in 2004, she has learned to love traditional music, and has studied banjo with folks like Bill Evans and Jody Stecher. Flat-picking ace Joe Ridout is a songwriter native to the Bay Area. Joe and Erin began playing together in 2006, and recently released their first CD, Hoi Polloi.
Joe and Erin will donate their proceeds from this concert to the Haath Mein Sehat ("Health is in Our Hands") project in India. A student-run project through the UCB chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World, HMS sends volunteers to Mumbai, India, to help save lives and improve the quality of life through health education and appropriate, low-cost water treatment methods.
