original folk-world-blues guitarist
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

One of the most original folk-blues-world music performers around, Isle of Man-born Canadian, Harry Manx, forges a seamless link between the music of East and West by wedding the essence of the blues with the entrancing depth of polytonal Indian ragas. Stirring in a pinch of gospel, compelling grooves, and thoughtful lyrics, he produces a boundary-pushing concoction that's impossible to resist.

Performing on lap slide guitar, blues harp, banjo, and the guitar and sitar hybrid known as a mohan veena, Harry has gained a rapidly growing following since his debut album Dog My Cat (NorthernBlues) inspired raised eyebrows and widespread critical applause in 2001. Since then he's won just about every Canadian award possible, from Canadian Folk Music Awards and multiple Maple Blues Awards to CBC Radio's 2007 Great Canadian Blues Award.

Tonight Harry will showcase tunes old and new, including numbers from his most recent CD, Mantras for Madmen. Don't miss this chance to catch one of his intimate, magical performances, where the musician mesmerizes all with his warm, weathered vocals and hauntingly beautiful melodies, his wry humor and great stories.
