singer, songwriter, pianist, composer
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

A pianist, singer, and writer of elegant love ballads and inspiring songs of conscience, Margie Adam returns to the Freight with her quick wit, warm voice, and intimate performance style. Born in southern California, Margie started playing as soon as she could climb up on the piano bench, and embarked on a life of professional performing in 1973. Four years later she established herself as a driving force in women's music as she took the stage at the historic National Women's Conference in Houston to perform her famed anthem, "We Shall Go Forth!" backed by 10,000 voices singing in three-part harmony.

Tonight she spotlights new pieces as well as selections from her most recent CD, Avalon (Pleiades), a collection filled with graceful melodies and deeply contemplative lyrics.
