leading exponent of the Welsh triple harp
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Master harper, Robin Huw Bowen, returns to our stage for an evening of intricate, fiery playing on the Welsh triple harp (which has three rows of strings, instead of the usual single row). With his talent for rekindling the soul of the musical repertoire he learned from the old masters of his native land, and his deep research into ancient Welsh melodies, Robin ranks among Welsh traditional music's most important figures.

Robin has toured internationally, as a member of the Welsh folk groups Mabsant, Cusan Tan, and Crasdant, as well as solo, and has recorded a number of albums like the 2000 solo work Hen Aelwyd ("Old Hearth"). Along the way, he has gained honors like the 2000 Machynlleth Festival's Glyndwr Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Wales and the British Academy of Film and Television Cymru Award for best original film score in 2001.
