one of the country’s foremost fingerstyle guitarists
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

One of the country's foremost guitarists, Muriel Anderson is the first woman to have won the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship. She combines the music of her mentors—Nashville legend Chet Atkins and classical virtuoso Christopher Parkening—with her own heart, style, and gentle sense of humor as she spans musical worlds from flamenco and Japanese koto music to the Beatles and Bach.

An Illinois native now based in Nashville, Muriel fell in love with the guitar at an early age and learned every style available to her, culminating in classical guitar study at DePaul University. She has composed music since age six, and has written music for guitar and strings as well as songs, solo compositions, and orchestral works, including commissioned classical works for the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Her most recent release is a vocal and instrumental CD, Wildcat.
