Join us for a memorable evening of great music, with proceeds benefiting the Halleck Creek 4H Riding Club for the Disabled, a Marin County nonprofit organization offering therapeutic horseback riding to the disabled.
A key figure in bluegrass, traditional, and folk music, Laurie Lewis' songwriting, fiddling, and crystal-clear singing have brought her national recognition, a Grammy, and two International Bluegrass Music Association Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year. Tom Rozum, Laurie's Grammy-nominated duet partner, adds his dextrous mandolin, expressive vocals, and wry humor to the red-hot duo.
Two of the Bay Area's most versatile musicians, Eric & Suzy Thompson explore the highways and byways of Appalachian music and country blues. Stop & Listen (Arhoolie), Suzy's most recent CD, features her powerhouse blues vocals and fiery fiddling along with Eric's acoustic picking, which is famed for its purity of tone and soulfulness.
Last seen on the Freight stage with his siblings, Michael and Martin, in the ever-popular Black Brothers' St. Patrick's Day Eve Concert, Irish singer extraordinaire Shay Black applies his robust voice to an extensive repertoire of sea music and songs from the Irish, English, and Scottish traditions.
Caren Armstrong writes big, buoyant music straight from the heart, and then sends it aloft with her soaring vocals. This dangerously honest, wickedly funny, and disarmingly vulnerable songwriter hangs her lyrics on a distinctive blend of folk, country, blues, jazz, traditional, and pop music.
Larry Hanks applies his expressive bass vocals, tasteful guitar, and jew's harp to a unique repertoire gathered during more than four decades on the folk music scene, including blues, ballads, old-time songs, and topical songs from the past and present.
