We are Maggie and Terre and Suzzy Maggie and Terre and Suzzy Roche We don't give out our ages And we don't give out our phone numbers Sometimes our voices give out But not our ages and our phone numbers.
Thus begins another unique and melodic performance by the acclaimed Roche sisters. Delighting the Freight with two nights of their intriguing lyrics and unusual, rich harmonies, the sisters present songs from the Roches' canon, both new and old, with plenty of holiday music thrown into the mix. They might even play a few selections from their soon-ro-be-released CD, the trio's first since 1995's Can We Go Home Now (Ryko).
Over nearly four decades of performing in various combinations (it's been rare for them to appear as a trio since they formally disbanded in 1997), Maggie, Terre, and Suzzy have built an enthusiastic grass-roots following with their "Roche music," blending influences from church choir music, traditional Irish, contemporary folk, rock, country, and pop with their own innovative sensibilities. Tempered by the sisters' hilarious deadpan humor and graced with their angelic harmonies, these two performances are sure to offer inspiration for the holiday season.
