Hawaiian Christmas celebration
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

The balmy sounds of aloha melt the winter chill when slack key guitarist, Patrick Landeza, kicks off the holiday season, Hawaiian-style. Patrick's Hawaiian Christmas celebration blends heart-warming stories of aloha and traditional Hawaiian Christmas songs, as well as favorite holiday standards.

Musician, songwriter, producer, educator, and founder of the Hawaiian Music Institute, Patrick Landeza carries on the unique, traditional Hawaiian fingerpicking style developed in the 19th century by Hawaiian cowboys who loosened their guitar strings (or "slacked" them) for a lower, more resonant sound. Born to Hawaiian parents on the island of Berkeley, California, Patrick cultivated his craft by studying slack key from masters like Raymond Kane and the late Sonny Chillingworth.

Tonight, Patrick features songs from his second album, Christmas to Me, a journey ranging from the Hawaiian Christmas standard "Mele Kalikimaka" to the jazz classic "I'll Be Home for Christmas," with Patrick's love and respect for slack key tying everything together.
