As part of the Glass Half Full project, inspired and organized by photographer Irene Young, an amazing lineup of woman artists comes together to offer an evening of healing and empowering music. Laurie Lewis, Barbara Higbie, Jennifer Berezan, Chris Webster and Sheilah Glover -- all featured artists on the Glass Half Full CD -- take the Freight stage to benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and SHARE Cancer Support, two organizations on the front line of the battle against breast cancer.

Just imagine! Five superb artists -- fabulous songwriter, fiery fiddler, and two-time International Bluegrass Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year, Laurie Lewis; effervescent vocalist and piano virtuoso, Barbara Higbie; multi-faceted singer-songwriter, teacher, and ritualist, Jennifer Berezan; sweet, soulful songstress, Chris Webster; and singer, composer, and storyteller, Sheilah Glover -- all gathered under the same roof to celebrate life, hope, and the healing of body and spirit. This show is sure to be unforgettable!

The Glass Half Full project was created by Manhattan-based photographer, Irene Young, who is famed in the music industry for her many superb album cover images.  "When I was diagnosed with breast cancer," says Irene, "many of the extraordinary artists and friends I had worked with over the years asked what they could do to help." The result was a compilation album of some of her clients' most powerful and healing songs, with the proceeds benefiting two organizations doing vital work in the fight against breast cancer.

The Breast Cancer Fund focuses on prevention as the key to eradicating the disease, working to eliminate the environmental and other preventable causes of breast cancer. New York-based SHARE provides peer support for women who are diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer, and their families and friends.
