The soulful folk-blues of Eric Bibb beautifully fuses a traditional, rootsy style and contemporary sensibilities, his mellow, husky voice and lyrics in perfect balance with his fine fingerpicking. One of the finest balladeers around, Eric's deeply satisfying blend of blues, folk, country, gospel, and soul combines with his personal warmth and irrepressible optimism to create a truly enriching experience -- both musically and spiritually.
Although he now resides in Sweden, Eric grew up in New York City, surrounded by major musical figures of the day: he is the son of '60s folk and musical theatre singer, Leon Bibb and the godson of singer/actor Paul Robeson. Eric has toured with Robert Cray and Ray Charles, and has one Grammy nomination and five W.C. Handy Blues Award (now Blues Music Award) nominations to his name, including one for his most recent album, A Ship Called Love (Telarc). "I love him," says Taj Mahal: need we say more?
